My Epicenter....

...is broken.

After my MRI and MRA today, I was told I have a blood clot in a vein on the right side of my brain. The doctor debated hospitalizing me, but decided being home is best for tonight. tomorrow in the early morning I will have another test to allow them to look at every vein in my brain. Currently the clot threatens my vision in my left eye...

I am scared shitless.

*the above photo is of me, taken this Monday after my EEG. The Technician was from Romania, and I am OBSESSED with "Vlad The Impaler"...needless to say this photo shows me in a happier space in time.

No matter what the doctors tell you after today's scan, you have to believe that everything is going to be OK.

I know that everybody who know you and read your blog hopes and prays so it would be so.

The invisible thousands of us are here, willing all our energy towards your health - there is no doubt in my heart - everything is going to be OK.

Hi, Stacy,
I'm sorry to learn of your illness. I can imagine what you are going through. The thing to do is think past it--to what you will be doing after all this is over.
You've been blessed twice, though you may not think so.
One blessing is that you've received a reminder that life is fleeting and we have no guarantee how long we will have it.
Another blessing is that you will discover who the truly good people in your life are. When you are on a roller-coaster of intense emotions dealing with your own challenges, and may not be at your best, can't cater to them and indulge them, may not be in full self-control--who looks past all of that to see the real you, understands, forgives, loves? You will know now.
I will light a candle for you.

Try not to be frightened. Easy for me to say but I think you just have to believe. In what, you decide, just believe!

On a side note. You look much better than me with Electrodes on your head. Srsly!

You are one of the Great people I know.

Hey Stacy really try not to panic you're only first starting to get information on your condition. It’s a good sign that you are home and not in the hospital. Try to be strong for your husband but more importantly be strong for yourself. You’re young and have a lot of good years ahead of you.

Helmut had a heart attack in the 1970's, and has a picture of himself with electrodes stuck to him. Hmm, is history repeating itself? If it is, be careful driving in about 40 years, you could get killed in a car crash, Helmut...I mean, Stacy.

Hope you're feeling better.

(BTW, your blog photo...damn!)

Stacy,

Focus on the positive! You've recovered from your stroke. You've found the clot before it has given your eye trouble. Despite how scary it may be, you've already beaten the odds and have emerged virtualy unscathed and better prepared to face the future.

The way medical scientific knowledge grows every year, your doctor's ability to treat you is better now than ever before.

You may not like where you are now, but you're in the best position to guarantee yourself a long, healthy, happy future.

Hey Stacy -
Well, I know that you've not lost your sense of humour at least, going by what you've named your picture there -- 'probed'. :-)

Now that the doctors have a better idea of what to look for, they'll have a better idea on how to treat it. You're probably halfway there, babe! We're all pulling for you!
